The Living Room

(Picture 1 taken from about the front door)

(Picture 2 taken from the same location but to the right some, the door in the foreground leads to the stairwell to access the upstairs.)

The living room is going to remain the same; however we’ll be moving the stairwell to the mud/laundry room (the old kitchen). As it turns out this is where the stairs were when the house was originally built. The fireplace will be removed completely because it is really falling apart. We’ll replace it with a wood fire place stove and insulated exhaust pipe, which will be surrounded by framing and then a faux stone finish. We decided to keep the wood fireplace because we’ll need to have backup systems in the event we lose power. Because of the remoteness we often lose power for hours and days at a time.
