One of the better books we have purchased since we began this “endeavor” has been “Renovating Old Houses: Bringing New Life to Vintage Homes,” by George Nash.

The book has been a wealth of information for anyone wanting to renovate an old house. I read it at least one a month and sometimes more often because of its completeness. It deals with everything from your initial inspection of the home, preparing for the renovation, the foundation, roof, heating, plumbing, just to name a just a few items. All procedures are explained in easy to understand manner and with complete detail.

The benefits of the book also cover the person that will actually do the work on their own or the one that will contract out. I highly recommend this book.
